Naging laman ng usap-usapan sa social media kamakailan lamang ang mga maiinit na pahayag nina actress-turned-politician Representative Lucy Torres at Sen. Leila De Lima patungkol sa Anti-Terr0r Bill. Ang nasabing bill ay matagal ng pinag-uusapan sa Kamara, at senado maging sa social media.
Kamakailan lamang nga ay naging trending sa social media ang pahayag ni Sen. De Lima patungkol sa kaniyang di pag sang-ayon ang pagpasa ng naturang bill.
Ayon kay De Lima, ang nasabing bill ay hindi para sa proteksyon ng mga mamamayang Pilipino kundi ginagamit lamang ito ng administrasyong Duterte para pagtakpan ang paging incompetent ng kaniyang administrasyon.
"The anti-terr0r bill is not for our protection. It is to protect this incompetent and unjust government from the anger of a frustration and fed up citizenry.
"Magtiwala raw tayo kay Duterte sa paggamit niya sa Anti-Terr0r Act dahil hindi raw niya gawain ang manggipit gamit ang batas. Ano ang tawag nila sa ginawa sa akin? Joke lang?"
Binweltahan naman ni Rep. Lucy Torres ang pahayag na ito ni De Lima at pinaalala sa huli kung gaano kahalaga ang pagsasabatas ng Anti-Terr0rism Act at kung sino ang magbebenepisyo nito.
Ani Torres sa isang panayam,
"This bill was made to stop terr0rists, not to make life inconvenient and uncomfortable for activists and those who voice out dissent.
"Let us not reduce the argument as a simple choice between human rights in one corner, and terr0rism in the other. Because terr0rists have no regard for human life or rights, their intent or actions so brut4l and ev1l they can never ever be mistaken as activists."
Matatandaan na una ng nagpahayag si Torres ng suporta kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte patungkol sa pagpapasa nito ng Anti-Terr0r Act.
Pahayag ni Torres,
"The fear that the law can be abus3d is not unfounded... But fear of abuse is not a valid reason to reject a bill outright. It is not a valid reason to reject needed legislation like the anti-terr0rism bill because theoretically speaking, all laws can be abused, even social welfare laws that are very benign and charitable can be abused."
